HVAC costs in Casselberry, Florida

A full AC replacement in Florida runs roughly $5,800 to $12,500 installed, with a typical 3-ton job near $8,500; ordinary repairs run $100 to $1,000. Inside Casselberry city limits add a flat $200 city mechanical permit. Those are researched market ranges and a published city fee, not our prices.

These are researched market ranges, not our prices and not a quote.

The dollar figures below come from published third-party cost guides — named and linked at the foot of the page — and from the City of Casselberry’s own published permit fee. They are here so you can tell whether a quote you have been handed is in the ordinary range for this work. They are not an offer, and no two houses in Casselberry cost the same to do.

The Casselberry line item

Inside city limits the permit is a flat $200.00. Not a percentage. Not a guess.

The City of Casselberry publishes one flat fee for HVAC, grouped with Electric / Plumbing / Gas: $200.00. It does not scale with the contract, so it is the same $200 on a $6,500 changeout as on a $14,000 one. If a Casselberry-city quote shows a permit allowance of $450 “to cover permitting,” ask what the other $250 is.

If your address is in Deer Run or Fern Park (32730), this fee does not apply to you — those are unincorporated Seminole County and permit through the county Building Division in Sanford. Which desk is mine?

How to read this

One flat fee, and a lot of moving parts

Every dollar figure on this site is a researched third-party range with a named source and a date, plus one figure that is not a range at all: the City of Casselberry’s published flat $200 HVAC permit fee. That is the anchor. Whatever a contractor quotes you, inside city limits the permit line should read $200.

The rest of the numbers move with the house. Casselberry’s 8,563 improved residential parcels have a median living area of 1,442 sq ft and a median build year of 1977, and both of those push a quote around more than the brand on the box does. A 1,442 sq ft block ranch with 1970s attic ductwork is not the same job as a 2,630 sq ft Legacy Park house from 2007, and it should not carry the same price.

Before you compare any number on this page, read the rebate order of operations. Duke Energy requires a free Home Energy Check completed within the previous 24 months before the equipment is installed. Replace first and apply afterwards and the claim is denied — on a strip-heat house, which is most of Casselberry’s 1970s and 80s stock, that is up to $1,000 thrown away.

Casselberry has the simplest permit fee in Seminole County and one of the cheapest for a large job. Because it is flat, it does not punish a bigger or better system the way a percentage-of-contract fee does: in Altamonte Springs a $14,000 high-efficiency heat pump carries roughly $280 of permit, in Casselberry it carries $200, the same as a $6,000 builder-grade swap. That is a small number, but it is the one number on your quote that a homeowner can verify in thirty seconds.

Neighbouring-city fees are from each city’s own published schedule, linked below, captured September 2026. Percentage-based fees are worked against a $9,000 contract for comparison only.

Book the free Duke Energy Home Energy Check before you replace anything.

Duke Energy requires a free Home Energy Check completed within the previous 24 months to qualify for any Home Energy Improvement rebate. Replace the system first and apply afterwards and the application is denied — there is no retroactive path back.

It is a no-cost visit and it is the single most common way a Casselberry homeowner loses a four-figure rebate. If you are within a year of replacing, book it now, before you call anyone for a quote. Duke’s rebate line is 800.254.8535.
